What makes our tours different?

Start with your booking agent and tour manager.  Tawnya has been in the travel industry for over 20 years with experience as a front line agent, agency manager, home based agent and agency owner.  She is a certified Travel Associate, Western Europe Specialist, Ireland Specialist and ScotsMaster Agent.  What's that you ask?  The ScotsMaster program was a travel agent specialist program that was offered by the Scottish Tourist Board. The program involved months of rigorous book study learning the essentials such as geography, climate and main tourist sites but also delved deeper into learning about history, heritage, culture, customs, activities as well as places to stay and dine.  Tawnya has spent the past 20+ years traveling extensively throughout the British Isles with many of those trips exploring all around Scotland.  She takes pride in the personalized service she provides for every tour participant during the planning process and while traveling with complete and thorough tour management.

Our small group tours of Scotland are for the most part "off the beaten path".  The Scotland with a Touch of Outlander Tour visits many of the popular tourist sites but we also fit in a few not so "touristy" visits as well.  The Islands, North Coast 500 and the Uists and Barra Tours are perfect for those looking to explore a bit of the undiscovered Scotland.

Our guide!  We bring acclaimed Scottish author, historian, and highland storyteller Hugh Allison along on our tours.  Hugh brings history to life while traveling throughout Scotland.  He shares his unending knowledge about everything from Scottish geology to Clan history.  Tawnya uses the same amazing and talented driver Mark to team up with Hugh year after year. The two of them are always a highlight of the trip.  They have been traveling with Tawnya now for a number of years and together they make their tours a journey to be remembered!

The size of our groups. Mid-sized group of 20 passengers on a 29 passenger coach for our Scotland with a Touch of Outlander Tours.  12 passengers on a 16 passenger coach on all other tours.  Big enough group to have an amazing adventure with like minded people making life long memories and new friends yet small enough that we can see and do a few things that "big bus" tours can't.  We always leave a few extra seats open, giving you a little bit of room to stretch those legs!

Lodging.  Lodging is an important part of any travel experience.  We try to stay in smaller inns, hotels and guesthouses whenever possible.  If not a smaller property we take into consideration location or historical significance.  On the Scotland with a Touch of Outlander Tour we even spend 2 nights in a quirky, homey, highland castle hotel!

Experiences!  We try to build in authentic experiences that will leave you with life long memories.  Tea in a 17th century home, a historical weapons demonstration, a tour of an islands distillery....

We could go on and on, but instead will let a few past tour participants share their experience

"I have been on 2 of Tawnya's tours, Scotland With a Touch of Outlander in 2016, the Islands tour in 2017 and in 2018 will be going in on the North Coast 500 tour. These tours continue to amaze me.
